What are the different types of FRP sheets?/Classification of FRP sheets.

The FRP  sheets are divided into 3 main categories based on the

A. Types of design & pattern.

B. Sunlight passage & view.

C. Types of fiber used.

A. Types of design & pattern.

1. Corrugated FRP sheets:

Corrugated FRP sheets are available in a variety of colors having different thicknesses & dimensions. They are mainly used for roofing purposes.

2. Plain FRP sheets:

Plain FRP sheets are used to cover the limited roofing or side areas where you want the passage of sunlight. You can use them to cover the balcony sheds, car parking sheds, canopy, or cover windows, etc.

3. Wrinkle FRP sheets:

As the name suggests, they have a wrinkled appearance as shown in the above image. They come in a variety of printed designs & colors. They are widely used for the installation of partition walls in commercial & industrial buildings.

4. Embossed FRP sheets:

The bump finish over the FRP sheets is created by a solid resin mix. These embossed surfaces are abrasion-resistant to outer atmospheric conditions. Embossed FRP sheets find their application for making wall panels & ceiling panels.

5. Roof tile FRP sheets:

They are standard-sized FRP roofing sheets having a roofing tile-like appearance over the surface. These sheets mimic ceramic or other types of tiles to provide a traditional look to the buildings.

B. Sunlight passage & view.

1. Transparent FRP sheets:

These types of sheets provide a clear view & full passage for the sunlight through them. Transparent FRP sheets are used at required intervals along with the regular opaque sheets, to brighten the building interior with sunlight.

2. Translucent FRP sheets:

Translucent sheets block the visual view of objects by blurring them. These sheets brighten the rooms by allowing a certain percentage of sunlight through them.

3. Opaque FRP sheets:

Opaque sheets are the regular type of sheets mainly used for roofing purposes. They block 100% of sunlight & external view from outside.

C. Types of fibers used.

1. Fiberglass-reinforced FRP sheets:

Fiberglass-reinforced FRP sheets are the widely used type of sheets for all general purposes. In the construction industry, you will find such types of sheets.

2. Carbon fiber reinforced FRP sheets:

Carbon fiber reinforced sheets are used as a covering material to protect the structures from harsh environments. When concrete structures develop cracks, these sheets are used to provide stability to the structure.

3. Aramid fiber-reinforced FRP sheets:

Aramid is a synthetic fiber manufactured by using polymers. They have excellent thermal, chemical & radiation resistance properties. Aramid-reinforced sheets are mainly used in military & marine works.
