👀. What will be the cost of plastering in a building?

 The area of the wall to be plastered = 570. 5 sq ft.

In the market, you will get different brands of gypsum plaster having their own specified coverage area. 

As gypsum plaster is a ready-made product, the cost of plastering will vary according to the type & brand you have chosen.

Let us understand this with an example.

For calculation purpose, I have taken the Saint-Gobain brand as shown below.

Given data by company:

Weight of one bag = 25 kg.

Plastering thickness = 13mm.

Coverage area = 27 sq ft./bag.

The no. of bags required to plaster the room

= [plastering area ÷ coverage area/bag]

= [ 570.5 sq ft. ÷ 27 sq ft. / bag ]

= 21.13 bags.

Material cost:

The cost of one bag as of date is INR 295/-

Labor cost:

The labor cost of gypsum plaster ranges from INR 8/- to 14/- per sq ft.

Let us consider an average rate of INR 11/- per sq ft.

The total cost of labor 

=  [plastering area × labor rate/sq ft.]

= [ 570.5 sq ft. × 11/- ]

= INR 6275.50/-

Note: 1. To get the accurate cost of plastering, insert the ongoing market rate of labor & material in your country.

👀. The cost of gypsum plastering /sq ft.

= [total plastering cost ÷ total plastered area]

= [  13,398 ÷ 570.5]

= INR 23.48/- per sq ft.

👀. If the plastering work is handed over to any contractor, then you have to add 10% extra for his profit.

= [plastering cost/sq ft. + 10% of plastering cost/sq ft.]

= [ 23.48/- + ( 10 ÷ 100) ×  23.48/-]

= [23.48 + 2.348]

= INR 25.83/- per sq ft.
