Estimation & costing of barbed wire fencing for a land./ Calculating the quantity of materials for fencing pole installation (part 2).

 Part 1  👈 back

Let us dig a circular pit of 30cm diameter having 45 cm. depth for the RCC pole installation.

Here, pit diameter d = 30cm, height h = 45 cm., number of pit = 40 nos.

The volume of a pit = ((π × d × d ) ÷ 4 ) × h

                               =(( 3.142 × 30 × 30 ) ÷ 4 ) × 45

                              = 31812.75 cu.cm.

Converting into meters, we get

                             = 0.031812 cum.

  Excavation for the pole installation:

= volume of a single pit × number of pit

            = 0.031812 cum. × 40 nos.

            = 1.27251 cum

            = 44.938 cu.ft.

Quantity of boulder required for the pole erection:

From the above fig., you can observe that 15cm. of the pit is packed with the boulder.

i.e. 15cm of the 45cm. depth is filled by the boulder.

Quantity of boulder required

= (depth of boulder-filled ÷ depth of the pit ) × total volume of the pit

        = ( 15 cm.÷ 45 cm) × 1.27251 cum.

        = 0.33333 × 1.27251

         = 0.42417 cum.

         = 14.97956 cu.ft.

The volume of concrete required for the pole installation:

From the above fig. you can observe that 30cm. of the pit is poured with concrete.

i.e. 30 cm of the 45cm. depth is filled by the concrete.

The wet volume of concrete required

= (depth of concrete-filled ÷ depth of the pit ) × total volume of the pit

         = ( 30 cm. ÷ 45 cm) × 1.27251 cum.

         = 0.66666 × 1.27251

         = 0.84834 cum.

        = 29.9591 cu.ft.

Let us use M20 grade concrete to fix the fencing pole.

  Quantity of cement required:

      = 8.06 bags × 0.84834 cum.

      = 6.837 bags.

  Quantity of sand required:

     = 0.42 cum × 0.84834 cum.

     =0.3563 cum.

 Quantity of aggregates required:

    = 0.56 cum × 0.84834 cum

   = 0.4751 cum.
